Chariot teams up with Daffy to launch a new use case for DAFpay: DAF-to-DAF transfers within DAF accounts.
For the past 2 years, DAFpay has helped thousands of donors and charities streamline and grow DAF giving.
Being able to give from your DAF in 3 clicks, right in a nonprofit’s donation form lets people use their DAF more easily, more often and in more places. DAFpay also saves nonprofits time on gift processing, data management and stewardship of DAF gifts.
We quickly learned from our DAF partners that there is a similar opportunity for improvement in how people fund their DAF accounts. Many new customers at Daffy, for example, already have another DAF account at a different DAF provider and they’re looking for a change. However, submitting a request to move funds from one DAF provider to another and making sure it gets to the right new account quickly, can be a hands-on and frustrating process.
In 2023, the median DAF transfer to Daffy was $10,000, with transfers ranging from as little as $100 to as much as $5.5 million. Some members transfer a small amount of money to try Daffy out, others make regular consistent transfers and still others transfer their whole balance because they prefer their new provider.
The phenomenon of DAF transfers became so common that this year, Daffy teamed up with Chariot to streamline the account funding experience to help more people be even more generous.
Today, we’re excited to announce that Daffy is the first DAF to integrate DAFpay™️, our 3-click DAF payment option, into their platform, making it even easier for Daffy members to transfer part or all of their outside donor-advised fund accounts to Daffy.
How It Works
If you’re already a Daffy member, simply go to “Add Funds,” select “Donor-advised fund transfer,” and choose your existing DAF provider. If your provider is one of the 200+ supported by Chariot’s DAFpay™️, you’ll be prompted to sign in to your account. This allows you to transfer part or all of your existing DAF to Daffy in seconds—all without leaving the Daffy platform.
Once a donor has funded their Daffy account through DAFpay, they can also use their Daffy account to make gifts directly in nonprofit donation forms wherever they see the DAFpay option. They can also review and manage their giving in Daffy’s slick mobile app and check out all of the other exciting features they offer with their modern DAF tech.
