July puts more disbursement power directly in your dashboard: send individual grants, set up your trusted email domain, and track everything in an upgraded disbursements table.
Here's what's new:
Sending disbursements
- Create individual disbursements: You can now send a single disbursement to a single organization right from your dashboard. Look up the recipient by name or EIN, and Chariot provides inline eligibility validation as you go. Just click "Create disbursement" to get started.
- Trusted sender emails: You can now send disbursement email notifications to grantees without Chariot accounts from an email on your own domain (e.g. grants@…). For one grantmaker, this led to a 4x increase in open rates and an 11x increase in click-through rates. Go to Settings > Domains > Add domain to verify your DNS records. Reach out to jackm[at]givechariot.com for assistance.
- Unlimited, free External Financial Account (EFA) transfers for grantees: You can now inform your grantees that there is no cost to receive disbursements on Chariot AND they can transfer funds out at any time for free.
- Upgraded disbursements table: Manage your disbursement approvals and track disbursements by payment status or delivery method with new custom properties and saved filtered views. Add your own properties, bulk edit property assignments, and save views so your whole team sees the same picture.
Growing the network
- 10K+ verified churches added: Through a partnership with a large church network, we've added more than 10,000 churches to our Disbursements database this month, so more of your faith-based grantees are pre-verified for your grant payments.
- New default payment source: Welcome, Community Foundation of East Mississippi, our newest grantmaker already sending electronic grants through Chariot!
