Welcome to our first “What’s New on Chariot” grantmaker update where we’ll share the new features and enhancements we’ve released for you each month!
Here's what's new:
- New Look for Disbursements: The disbursements overview, activity table, transactions table, create-disbursement flow, and grant letter page have all been rebuilt on Chariot's new design system, with cleaner filters, column management, bulk selection, and selective downloads.
- Corporate Match Transactions: Your disbursements now support corporate match transactions alongside DAF grants, with the company name included on grant letters.
- Checks to Local Chapters Now Print DBA Name: When you send a check to a group-exemption subordinate (think local PTAs, booster clubs, or lodges), they are now made out to the chapter's DBA name programmatically so recipients can actually deposit them. This covers more than 295,000 subordinate nonprofits.
- Stopped Disbursement Automations: Sometimes a check just refuses to land: the nonprofit has relocated, shut down, or the check was lost in transit. Chariot now automatically halts a disbursement after a check is voided 3 consecutive times (frequency is configurable per grantmaker), notifies the sending grantmaker, and returns the funds to the CDA so the grantmaker can redirect them.
- Suggested Contacts and Addresses: Providing an email or mailing address for a nonprofit used to mean one-off Slacks, emails, and spreadsheets. Now you can propose a contact or address directly, through the dashboard or via our APIs, and Chariot's team will verify and add it to the nonprofit's record.
- Faster Review on the Donation Slider: Grantmaker legal terms now appear directly on the donation detail slider, no need to jump up to the deposit to find them. Recipient nonprofit name, EIN, and check number also show up on the ledger transaction slider for outbound disbursements.
- New Disbursements Partner: Brooklyn Org is our newest grantmaker partner. We’re thrilled to continue growing our network of grantmakers committed to faster, safer electronic payments.
