What's New for Grantmakers | August 2026

This month is all about giving you a clearer picture of your grantees and giving them more flexibility: a new Nonprofits tab, an immediate check opt-in flow, and more.

Here's what's new:

Nonprofit Search

See your disbursements history and search for information on any nonprofit, all from the new Nonprofits tab in your dashboard sidebar. Here's what's waiting for you:

• Nonprofit info on one page: pull up any nonprofit and instantly see their compliance status, disbursement history, org details (legal/DBA name, website, payment address, etc.), and CDA account claim status. You can even fire off a one-off disbursement or add a suggested contact or mailing address right from their page.
• Request nonprofit verification without a grant: You can now create a nonprofit verification request in your dashboard without also submitting a grant request. Just go to the Requests tab and click the “Create Request”button to submit a request. Track the status of that verification right in your dashboard.

New Capabilities

• Command Shortcuts: Press Ctrl+K (Windows) or Cmd+K (Mac) anywhere in your dashboard to jump to any page, filter your data, or open a record straight from an ID, EIN, or donor email in your clipboard. Learn more here.
• Sandbox in Dashboard: You can now request a Sandbox account in your dashboard to test disbursement workflows. Just click on your account name in the bottom left corner and “switch to sandbox” or create a new sandbox.
• Passkeys: You can now sign in to your Chariot dashboard with a passkey for a faster, more secure login.

For Your Grantees

• Check opt-in flow: Previously, nonprofits that didn't want to claim a Chariot account had to wait 5 business days before we mailed a check. Now, they can request a check immediately from any new disbursement email. We'll still encourage electronic payments by explaining the risks of check fraud, but nonprofits now have the flexibility to opt for a check right away. Requesting a check cancels the remaining claim emails for that disbursement.
